All hail the Queen of Saigon! The 31-year-old “hollywood sadcore” singer released her breakthrough single ‘Born To Die’ exactly five years ago today. Described as an “art-pop sorceress,” Lana Del Rey first gained attention in 2011 when her music video for “Video Games” rose to internet fame. In 2012, Del Rey gained further fame after her album Born to Die peaked at number two on the United States charts and was the fifth best-selling album of the year. Ultraviolence, her third studio album, released in 2014 went on to become her first number one record in the United States. Then, in 2015, Del Rey released her fourth studio album Honeymoon. Rumors have spread about the singer releasing a fifth studio album but no official word has been released.
