Justin Bieber rocks the world with Believe

Posted by admin On June - 25 - 2012

Believe, Bieber’s second full-length studio album is certainly reaching #1 on the Billboard 200 album chart. However, it was also predicted that the upcoming week will be the most successful one in his career, and that he is heading for the year’s biggest debut. By the end of the week, the album is supposed to move up between 410,000 and 440,000 units. This will let Bieber pass even Madonna and her album MDNA, which received 359,000 units.

Before Bieber achieved these numbers his manager stated: “I think it’s gonna do well because I think people are really giving it a shot. At the same time, I think that’s my biggest hope that people judge him on the music. That they go and they listen to the album and they don’t go in with any expectations. There’s a lot of hype around him because of who he is [but if you] just shut your eyes, put on your headphones, and put on the music and then just decide if this album is worthy of your time.”

Despite the popularity and inflow of new fans, Bieber can feel overwhelmed and stressed with his constant achievements. Fame can be sometimes brutal, and as his manager pointed out, Bieber almost broke down while his album was reaching the heights on the charts. Of course, an ordinary person would think that the 18 year-old celebrity has all he could ever imagine. After his past successes he should be used to the never stopping attention. Don’t break down Justin, everyone knows you like to be in the spotlight! Let us see if Bieber can beat Madonna!

Out of Jail, Taking His Time

Posted by admin On June - 25 - 2012

When Lil Wayne released his I Am Not a Human Being album he really proved to be one of the leading rappers in the music industry. The “Young Money Cash King” reached #1 on the Billboard 200 chart, which made him the first artist since Tupac to rise to the top while imprisoned. When he finishes the sequel album, I Am Not a Human Being II he will not be locked down, and hopes to claim the #1 spot once again.

Wayne told MTV News: “I Am Not A Human Being II, that’s what I’m workin’ on right now, actually I’m finished. The difference between [this] album and the last I Am Not a Human Being would be the music wasn’t rushed. Last time the music was rushed because I had to take that eight-month vacation on that island so we had rushed the music, but this time we didn’t rush the music.” The first album was released when Lil Wayne was locked on Rikers Island in New York after being charged with criminal possession of a weapon and marijuana.

After being released, the rapper continued to release albums. The Carter IV album (2011), in its debut week sold nearly a million copies. Instead of continuing with the Carter line, Wayne decided to produce the sequel to I Am Not a Human Being. The first single in the album features Big Sean.

The rapper did not announce a release date for his album, however, he said: “I paid attention to everything I did. You’re getting the quality of all my albums: The Carter IV, The Carter III, the same with this I Am Not A Human Being II. Hope you like it.” I’m sure we will like it, Lil Wayne!

Maroon 5 has always had successful runs on Top 40 charts and their fourth studio album is no different. A few weeks back they released their new single “Payphone,” featuring Wiz Khalifa and it has since dominated the Billboard and UK Top 40 charts. Like all of Maroon 5’s best work, “Payphone” delves into the world of lost and wasted love. It is perfectly corny and romantic and exactly the type of music we love from them.

Adam Levine’s voice is the anchor of the song and his falsetto has become a familiar sound to radio listeners in the past 10 years. The song’s release is timed almost perfectly with Levine’s highly publicized split with former girlfriend Anna V., the Victoria Secret model we all grew to love in Maroon 5’s previous videos “Misery” and “Never Gonna Leave This Bed.” Is it bad to say that their misfortune has resulted in a pretty great song for the rest of us?

Chris Brown Releases New Music Video

Posted by admin On June - 11 - 2012

Chris Brown has just released the music video of his latest single, “Don’t Wake Me Up” which features model Arya Nicks as his love interest. Brown is shown chasing Nicks in various places because she is the woman of his dreams – literally.

“Don’t Wake Me Up” is the fourth single of his album “Fortune,” which was released on June 3. The new single hasn’t peaked too far up the charts (none of the four went past #10) so things aren’t looking too good for C-Breezy at the moment. If sales don’t start picking up, he could have an album flop on his hands.

DJ Khaled’s new single, Take It To The Head, was a blockbuster of a song, so it only seems right that the music video should match epically. The single features musical heavyweights like Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne and Rick Ross and the video had to be just as theatrical to keep up with the talent! The video showcases Brown singing in a cage, Nicki Minaj singing on a stage and for some reason the entire location was being drenched with waves of water. According to director Colin Tilley, the video was supposed to be a recreation of an earthquake a la the 1974 action film (titled “Earthquake,” naturally).

The music video also had cameos by Drake, Birdman, and Busta Rhymes, just to ensure that the star power was through the roof for this one. The video premiered on May 20 to much fanfare but to be honest, with so many musical icons, one couldn’t really expect anything less.
